outside recruitment
Some of our best teachers are business people that have come to teaching as a second career. My feeling is they were meant to be teachers all along. Most knew it but wanted to make some money first. Recruiting from business and industry would solve the teacher shortage, but though these people have plenty to offer I don't see it as a fix for test scores or raising standards.
