Letters to the Editor...
student burnout
In our school we give the 3rd grade reading test at approximately the end of February. A readability level was done by the third grade teacher and it came out at a fifth grade level. Is this reason to give frustration to those 3rd grades who are at grade level and they see this test and are not able to do it. We automatically state that any student in Sp.Ed who is not at or close to 3rd grade level not take this test. Pushing to cover too much by this grade can frustrate even those kids who do not have problems.
