Parent accountability
If you teach in a public school, what can be done to hold parent's accountable? At our school, we have discussed this topic on many occassions. We cannot deny services to the children. We cannot keep them from our class. We cannot educate or treat the child of a responsible any different than a child or a non responsible parent. The law guarantees a free, appropriate public education. There are no string attached. If a parent is not fulfilling their responsibility, there is nothing we can do.
