Passing the Essay

For those of you stuck on passing the essay portion of the GK, trying writing about the poem (if you're given one as a choice). Poetry break-down is easier than writing to prompts. If you brush up on ELA terms like: metaphors, simile, etc. it's easier to describe what's going on within the poem...that's how I finally passed.

teacherheart Congratulations on passing with a creative poem! Understanding the essay graders have a rubric/check list guidelines, there are hundreds of essays to be graded. There is strategic techniques to slay the essay within 50 minutes. I have the content, but time is a work in progress......

Does anyone know this months prompts? Also, I used YouTube GED vids to help pass the math for the Gkt and it worked.

I took the gkt in January. My essay topic had something to do with advantages and disadvantages of teacher assessments and then it gave the range of assessments from ineffective effective highly effective and so on.

GK Reading

I took the GK Reading last month and failed! My score was a 195. I plan on retaking it again sometime this week or the next.

The reading passages I had were:
