Any tips/suggestions for a fairly new teacher. How do you stay encouraged when you feel like your giving your ail, but yet it never seems good enough for parents or administration. Also, how do you deal w/ demanding parents w/ unrealistic expectations, or who are difficult or unsupportive?
There really is no easy answer. If you truly are doing your best, and the expectations really are unrealistic then there isn't much you can do to improve the current situation. You can try to worry less about it and/or grow a thicker skin but that's about it as far as I can think about.
Any chance other schools in the area, in nearby districts, etc. might be a better working environment? You might think about int'l schools. They offer many of the same benefits of DoDEA but can be easier to get into and you could still keep your application active and be recruited by DoDEA from overseas (like we did).

The crickets felt it was their duty to warn everybody that summertime cannot last forever. Even on the most beautiful days of the whole year - the days when summer is changing into autumn - the crickets spread the rumor of sadness and change.
I just wrote the essay exam. The topic was " evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of school's implementation of healthy food choice and fresh cooking to combat childhood obesity in the nation." Under pressure, I did not do good.
I'm carrying out some research as part of a social impact program into teacher workload and the use of online tools. As such, I've created a survey that will take about 10mins to complete.
If you are a teacher, please take the time to fill it in. If you're not a teacher - please share with any teachers you know.
