I am going to try to remember some of the questions and make a quizlet later tonight.
During the exam today I scrolled through all of the questions just to skim the questions and answers. Then I worked my way through the questions backwards, starting with question number 110, which is the very last question. I noticed that some of the questions were asking the same thing just in a different way, if I had answered the questions in order from #1 and ending at question #110 - I probably would not have caught this little test trick.
I also took my time and read the questions more than once, I even read them backwards so that I could really comprehend what the question was truly asking.
I hope this information helps someone! Best Wishes & Good Luck!!!
I 'm retaking the Reading FTCE in April on the 9th at PB State College. The passages I previously had were Snow & Santa Ana Winds, Buchanan, Day of the Dead/Food Additive, Running Barefoot, Paper Mill. If anyone takes the test at the beginning of April help by placing your April Passages here. Thank you in advance it is greatly appreciated.
I just completed a second attempt on a test only to fail (again) within 10 points. Twice scoring a 193 and needing a 200 to pass. I am beginning to think that Pearson is failing people so that they can make more money off of retakes. If the majority would pass then they would not make as much...
Wondering if it is worth the $75 (that I do not have) to make sure they have graded correctly. Please if anyone has gone through this process please reply. Would like to know how it went for others.
enoc79I was wondering the same thing about the Verification Session. I scored a 198 on the SAE ELA 6-12 Multiple Choice! I studied for days using a NavaEd study guide and NONE of the questions were even remotely similar.

Mr Ken@roz 198 that was the 5th time and has always had over 190 I used NavaEd, study .com and exam edge, I had my last test review and some of the questions I was marked wrong were the same ones at NavaEd but they told me that doesn't matter. I just need to get the right study guide, I am running out of time

I failed reading, passages were Buchanan, Day of the Dead/Food Additive, Running Barefoot, Paper Mill. I was overly confident I would pass, but didn't and will take it again in April. Please help by placing your April Passages here. Thanks in advance !
The idea is for them to demonstrate a functional level of proficiency in order to use a new electronic communication system to be implemented by the university. As such, I'd imagine the curriculum should reflect practical learning goals to be used in task-specific circumstances. We have until July 31st to work with the incoming students, so any goals must work within a certain time-frame.
My biggest concern is that I have very little experience to begin with, let alone working with adults. In addition, some of the students we tested demonstrate very low literacy levels in their first language. Are there any more experienced educators out there who might be able to shed some light on the situation--who might have any input on where to begin with designing an entire curriculum for such a specialized group of learners?
