My niece is applying for jobs in Florida but claims she will only have an annual contract meaning she can be let go at anytime. I used to work in the state of Florida and am shocked this can happen. Will CTA help secure a position?
Jme Do you mean just that she won't be tenured upon a first hiring? Or that she is being hired only for a one-year position? Or that this is some kind of a non-tenure-track position?

Jme It sounds like other states I've worked in over a great many years--we are on yearly contracts until we become tenured. I have worked in a state where were om annual contracts for three years. In Kentucky, we don't get tenure (permanent positions) until we shaw up for our first day of work on our fifth year. I think this is common, if not universal...See More
