I have been thinking about this whole private school voucher system that seems to be a pet project of the new Secty of Education. Now, if vouchers are available, some parents may want to send their kids to some of the more (ahem) exclusive private schools, especially now that they don't have to pay tuition or at least a lesser amount.

So, will these private schools accept these less affluent students and lose their exclusivity? Of course not, so these well-meaning parents will have school choice and this handy dandy voucher that they can't use. So, what are these well- meaning middle class parents going to do? Keep their kids in public school? Put pressure on the likes of Betsy DeVos to accept their bright, but not rich kid?

This is going to be one giant mess with a lot of disgruntled parents and the rich will be runni...See More

Lulu But you also have to recognize that public school budgets are also going to have to subsidize kids who are already attending private schools, so in some districts there may be some savings and in others substantial losses. The key would be to figure out how not to drain the public schools of resources while still offering vouchers that are meaningf...See More
