I have used it for a few years mainly because it gives me energy. But I am learning a lot of good things about the oil and believe it would be helpful to my husband who has had brain cancer and may be at risk for Alzheimer's-- there is a lot of info out there from people saying it has helped their elderly parents. However, I can't get it into hubby! He doesn't drink coffee (I love coconut oil in my coffee!), and while he does drink tea, only cold tea. He doesn't drink "smoothies" (neither do I). I tried putting some in his soup but he noticed the oil sheen, even tho I didn't use much. We are watching carbs for diabetic issues so I can't make "energy bars" and such. Anyone have any ideas?! The more I read about coconut oil and Alzheimer's, the more I'm convinced it can be a help. I've explained all this to hubby and that it would be up to me to care for him if he got Alzheimer's and to do something to help himself, if there's even only a good possibility it will help...See More

Judy2/CA I really only use coconut oil for baking. If you use Pinterest Search coconut oil recipes. I checked and while many arefor baked goods there are other recipes for entrees. If you don't use Pinterest you can google coconut oil recipes to find some recipes you and your husband might like.

celijo Does it matter what brand of coconut oil? Perhaps a better quality brand might be less noticeable to your husband.

Can you also inject the coconut oil into some of his favorite types of fruit?
