Just saw an email from my principal. Tomorrow is supposed to be field day. You know - out doors all day, sweating in the sun, doing field day type activities.

We were "reminded" that we are to dress professionally. If field day isn't cancelled (rained today but no rain in the forecast tomorrow) we can change (at school with all the kids in the building) for field day after our first hour activity. Apparently all the teachers are to just leave the kids on their own while we run to the ladies room to change clothes? I'm sure that won't be a problem at all.....

Why even schedule things like field day, if our biggest concern is that the teachers might wear something too casual on that day? Wouldn't want to see me in capris, a t-shirt and sneakers on field day. Nope. Skirt and heels it is.

I am just totally baffled as to what he is trying to say here!
BA Any chance the principal is under pressure from above about staying professional all the way to the end of the year? It certainly doesn't sound as if he? she? has thought through the details--nor stopped to think about whether all teachers will read the email before getting to school.

Keith Maybe he was trying to imply no tank tops, exposed stomachs, extremely short shorts. Changing from pants to capris mid day should not take more than a minute or two and might have an assembly in the morning to allow time for teachers to change?
