The push is on in my district to do small guided reading
groups. I have to admit that I have tried it and...I like
it. I'm thinking of meeting with one or two groups a
week, while the other students read independently, with
partners, or in small groups. I think it will really give
me an opportunity to foster conversation and understanding
for some students who really need it. I am not giving up
four blocks and am not expected to strictly do guided
reading groups. It's just another way of reaching
students. Any thoughts on the matter? Dawn/FL
