Hi I am a first grade teacher in Mexico. I am required to do small pull out guided reading groups. I have read in another post that you can incoporate these guided reading groups in the S.S.R. time. While you are with a small group and kids are reading do you have them do a project on the book as well? Or do they jsut keep reading for the entire time?

Can anyone share some activities or stratagies if you have to incoporate guided reading into the S.S.R. block?

Melissa I do small groups during SSR time. While I am reading with my groups, my other students are doing their "Choice board" stations. I have 8 stations, each student completes 2 stations per day.
