Another question: are there any resources concerning the
use 6+1 Traits with second language learners? Anchor
papers for second language learners? Just as we hold
different expectations for a third grader versus an eighth
grader when using the traits, it seems the same would hold
true of students at different levels of language
proficiency (same traits, same scoring guides, but
expectations increasing as the student becomes more
proficient in the second language). I am looking for
anchor papers, or any articles addressing this. Found some
resources about students using the traits in bilingual
settings (writing in the native language), but not much
about students who are writing in their second, less
proficient language. For my own situation this would be
for English language learners, but anything designed for
using the traits in a foreign language classroom would
help, too.
