The school where I work as a learning specialist uses the 6
traits method for teaching writing in the mainstream
classrooms. Does this method work in resource rooms as well
where the children tend to need more scaffolding and more
prompting to remain on task? Does anyone have any
suggetsions on how to implement this strategy in resource
centers? Jackie A

We use the lessons and ideas of author imitatation set forth
in the "Literature Based Writing" book by Bruce Hansen. He
shows how students can imitate certain aspects of an author's
writing. This gives students enough support to be successful
in or out of the resource room.
