haha Ummm. Doesn't sound like any SPED position I am familiar with. We do have to be a bit of a jack of all trades but Trig and Calculus seem like a bridge too far for anyone but math specialists and our students don't generally take those classes. I'm going through the security background check as a new hire. Yay!

I received an email from NBIB CTR Perspecta RDG aka Case Support Team, Risk Decision Group to "assign a local investigator to your case in the near future."

Is this a normal part of the procedure? It looks legit, but could it be phishing?

haha They probably use different contractors since we went through the process but sounds legit. When in doubt, check with HR.

RJ I have seen first-year teachers, however, they either had a very hard to find certification combo OR had student taught with DoDEA. There are always exceptions and likeI've said time and time again, the most consistent thing with DoDEA's hiring process in inconsistency. Give it a shot! Who knows....

Once you are hired as a DoDea teacher, how easy/difficult is to transfer to another DoDea school in a different country? I am assuming you have to complete a time requirement.

Some people think you have a better chance of being hired for overseas positions as an Americas employee, some people have tired it and had less luck.

Icanread I second Haha's comments. Only accept a position in a location where you could live for 8-10 years. I wish I had been told that info before being hired. There is no way to move without a transfer round, and those seem to be few and far between (every 3-5 years with only 20% of teachers who apply for a transfer actually get a transfer). I see from previous posts that ACE credit has been accepted by DODEA, but does anyone know if that remains so? I'm considering one of their MEd programs.

Ida Yes. It is a letter that the school gives you that basically says you have arrived and these are your dependents and this is your Deros date (a leaving date that doesn't totally apply to us).

Icanread Make sure you do your research. In some countries, it's very expensive to bring a car and to get it through registration, insurance, etc. Other countries will not allow you to bring in a car that was not manufactured in their country.
