If you follow the Dodds teacher's Facebook page, there have been new hires who have posted that they haven't gotten benefits (LQA, RAT) because they weren't on US soil when they were hired. Your husband would have to check with HR to verify that you would receive benefits.

In the past I would say it was likely, but they do seem to have tightened up on CONUS hire benefits recently. It would definitely be something to check out with HR.
Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll actually bring back the transfer round if you're looking for a way to change locations.

Even those of us on the inside don't know where the vacancies are, unless it's a vacancy at the school where you work or one you hear about through word of mouth, or they just happen to be emailed out as an internal vacancy. I believe the ones listed on USAJobs are because they are having trouble finding someone with the right certs.

Agree, vacancies being posted are the exception rather than the norm. SPED is a good area to have.

I think it depends on the principal. They all do things a little differently.

You may receive an email or phone call from a principal for the position in the next few days/weeks or you may never hear anything else about it. Some people eventually get another email from HR telling them the position was closed/filled. Many people never have any kind of closure.

Yes, your secretary can generally help. If you have your CAC you should be able to apply online.through DAPS(?).

You can let g on to DAPS to do it (same place for TQSA), but I'd get your secretary to help before you submit. It can be a little confusing as to what your max can be and you don't want it delayed because you did something wrong.

I have called many times in the past month and gotten the same error message. And I have emailed 3 different HR reps from my official Dodea email with no response from any of them. I don't know what's going on with HR.
