Teacher candidates will learn of development characteristics from a nurse, physical education teacher, sports coach, or other health specialist at the school and practicing special education teacher. In this block, your field experience must be completed outside of school hours when students are not present.
Contact a health specialist and a special education teacher from secondary grades 6-12 and arrange separate interviews. Speak with your instructor about alternate professionals to interview, if necessary.
Use the following points of discussion to guide your interview:
Discuss characteristics of adolescence.
What characteristics seem to change the most and why?
What characteristics seem to never change?
How does physical development influence the characteristics of adolescence?
How does cognitive development influence the characteristics of adolescence?
How do social and emotional relationships influence the adolescent?
What technologies are used to facilitate adolescent learning?
HelpOthersWhat grade level might this be? How many students in the room? When might I hear something from HR? If hired, will I be assigned a sponsor? etc.
educatormamaI ask the interviewers something like "what is your favorite part of working for DODEA? How will I benefit/grow professionally and personally by working for DODEA?"
What is a SF-50 and a CAC? I was told it will take 2-4 weeks for the SF-50 to be processed from my Aug 14th start date. Then I can get my CAC...which I need to get my insurance coverage.
HelpOthers1stFriday is correct. You should be able to use your employment verification letter for insurance and CAC. SF-50 should not take that long either.
CmcI wish. Referral list notification on June 13th and no interview request. Feeling like it's just not in the cards for me. Congratulations to those who have been hired.
I was offered a teaching position in Japan. I also have an 11 year old medium size dog that I would love to bring with me. What are your experiences with air travel?
Once you get your orders you will work with SATO or whoever is handling travel these days. You talk about your desired travel dates and they will generally go over any options about carriers, routes, times etc. you may have. They generally book tickets for new hires.
Pay for new hires will be on a 21 paycheck schedule (basically every two weeks, ending in June for you). You can switch to 26 checks the next year. The first check will likely be delayed a couple of weeks for you. You can apply for an interest free 3 month advance once you report which will also take a few weeks to kick in.
Apply for your official passports as soon as you get the information. Hang in there!
HelpOthersNo. As vacancies are determined legitimate by HR, principals start interviewing. If principals have several positions to interview for, they may choose to interview for one position rather than another.
hahaThey are continuing posts for whatever that means these days. I have not hear or read about plans to close and bases/schools in the near future (but that doesn't mean it's not possible).
