My interview was July 3rd. Tentative offer for Germany on July 19th. Still waiting for orders. I have all submitted all my paperwork up to this point on my end. I'm just waiting. Seems like forever!
HopefulHave you been in contact with your HR rep? What about the school pricipal? I was having a similar experience and then all of a sudden got a new HR rep who was more active for getting things done. I'd recommend following up and if the school needs you they may be able to apply pressure from their end to see what the hold up is.
Does anyone have a timeline for overseas who was an internal and did not have to wait on EQiP? Wouldn't this make things move quicker or is it still 3 or more months to move after tentative offer. Why do they call it tentative anyway? I've never heard of someone getting rejected after tentative offer
RJI think I'm a few steps behind you, please keep me posted when you receive orders. I am making a lot of decisions for my family, school, etc. and it would be helpful to know the timeline. A friend who was offered a job in July, arrived the end of August. So the turnaround was just under 6 weeks (internal, no eQuip).

Wouldn't you know I worked hard to get into DODEA. I get in at Camp Lejeune...Cat 4 hurricane...mandatory evacuation. I just unpack my classroom and home...bam...and could lose it all.
So any other gloomy news? What happened with negotiations Sept 11
Doing my in processing paperwork. What is all needed for the physical exam? I have a little high cholesterol and some minor stuff, but I take medication for it and it is controlled. Would this impact me keeping my job? I hardly ever go to the doctor. I'm not overweight and stay active.
IcanreadWhen I did the medical evaluation 6 months ago, there was no blood work. I'm pretty sure there was no urine test either. In fact, there was nothing about pre-existing conditions or even current medications. So you should probably be okay, unless they changed the forms.
Does anyone live in Sasebo? What can you tell me about it?
I have an opportunity to transfer to Sasebo from Yokosuka and I was looking for any feedback on how it compares, what your thoughts are, etc. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :)
It seems to be a very nice base/area (more green and hilly compared to Tokyo/Yokohama) and on the water which is nice. Weather seems to run warmer than Yokosuka and they don't get as cold (with maybe more rain).
Nagasaki is not too far away. I don't know how that translates to actual travel time from base (or nearby housing) but probably about as doable as getting into downtown Tokyo.
People seem happy there for the most part and I have not heard anything horrible about the base. area. schools, etc. (FWIW). Hopefully someone will post with more firsthand knowledge. Have you tried posting on the DoD Teachers FB page?
I'm wondering about my advance though. I've submitted the request for AP, and the request has been completed. How long does it usually take to receive the advance after all paperwork is processed? It was processed on September 6. On the other hand, my TQSA hasn't even been reviewed and was submitted two days later.
Anyone been through the process recently and could give me a timeline?
hahaNot recently, personally. But what I hear/see is about what is was for us: anywhere from 2 weeks to much longer (with most received within 3 weeks or so).
Glad to hear that things are going well so far. :D
somedayMy advance came super quick. 4 days. I applied on a Monday and it was in account Friday. If it's processed you might see it this Friday in your account.
I got a tentative job offer on 8/28. When I received my offer I was emailed a bunch of forms to fill out (employment verification, authorization to do background checks, etc.) After all of those papers were emailed I got an email on 8/31 with eQIP and fingerprints instructions. The eQIP is the questionnaire you fill out for background checks. They want to know places you've lived and worked, close friends info, etc. I submitted my fingerprints on 9/4 and now I'm just waiting to hear back. As far as physicals go, my position is stateside so I don't think I'm required to do one. The hiring process is different for stateside than it is for international.

My pets have already been vaccinated for rabies, as part of their regular yearly check up. They've also been microchipped. Does this mean that then only thing left is the rabies test and 10 day health letter? Asking for Japan
My application still has an avalability date of July 15th. Do I need to change this? Is there a way to put any time? Do I change it to the end of this school year? What about when I update my application in December or January?
IcanreadI was told by a non-Dodea principal to change something on my application every once in a while because she said that some systems move applications up when they are updated. So I would update my availability date often. Maybe it helped me get a Dodea job... I don't really know.
