Couple of Questions
Depends on the location you're going to, but most teachers choose to live off base since LQA is pretty generous.

Don't parents want this program? I would think if some vocal parents from across the different bases could get organized that they could effectively fight this change.

Yes, most parents I've talked to love the program, and I don't think most know at this point. We received a letter from Mr. Brady a week ago. Apparently it has been a conversation for a few years.

Only if you actually want to teach in DoDEA Americas. Many people are happy where they are living/teaching in the states but would move to take a job with DoDEA overseas. Nothing bad about that.

I believe that the antiterrorist triadi is he only one that isn't offered via the intranet. The rest are in the employee training portal, which you need a CAC for.

My principal told me when she would be finished with all the interviews and indicated that after that all communication was with HR. She said that she makes recommendations/ choices and the tentative offer would come via email from HR and she said that if the first choice doesn't reply within a certain amount of time then HR will move onto the next...See More

I never heard from the principal after my interview. I got an email from HR with a tentative job offer almost 3 weeks after my interview. The principal informed me it's not her that makes the hiring decisions. She sends her recommendation to the superintendent, then he sends it to HR and they make the final decision.

Hi! Yes, I have mine. I actually got my masters in Library Science with my concentration in school library but there were several people just getting their certs to add on to their teacher certificates. Louisiana State University has an online program for Library Science cert. Hope this helps!
