It really doesn't help to email principals because you must be on a referral list to get an interview. Principals receive too many e-mails that they do need to read. Just make sure you have included everything you can in the narrative that is not included in all the options on the page that shows your experience. Also make sure all the dates show you are available for this 2018-2019 school-year.

Stress your report date as a reason to expedite the passports. Eugenia CAN walk them where they need to go to have them returned more quickly, but she has to have good cause.

Once you have orders, you could be out in a week or two, depending on whether the moving companies are backed up. You can give a limited power of attorney to someone to help with your household goods or leave a spouse behind to travel a little later, so you can report closer to the beginning of your orders time-line.

I currently live in Germany (working at an international school), and was told it is no problem to move from my current location, while using my hometown in the US as my HOR.

I was told by my HR rep that my HoR is the location I am hired from - end of story. Neither WA nor FL have state income tax, so I guess I'll worry about it when I start thinking about making the US my home again. I'd like to stay abroad until I retire, which is quite some time away, but we'll see what happens on the world stage and go from there.
