I immediately called HR. They said it was inactivated due to HR reviewing my qualifications, etc before making an offer. I can still get into my app online. Has anyone has received an email like this? If so, how long before an offer came? I'm getting antsy and paranoid that something is wrong. In the meantime I can't go out on other referral lists.
Any help you can give to ease my brain would be great! ;-)
I'm wishing to be placed somewhere in Japan for the 2019-2020 school year but I will have my husband coming with me as he will be working for a B.A. online.
My question is this: If I don't change my last name on anything would he still be able to get a spouse visa (we will have a marriage certificate of course) with his different last name? (We will be getting married in about 6 months so it would be so difficult for me to have to change literally EVERY document I have to match the new last name.)
I'm hoping that all I would need to show that we are married is our marriage license, but I can't find anything online giving exact information.
HelpOthersFor him to be on your orders, you need a marriage license with both your legal names on it. You do not need to change your name. I understand not wanting to try to get passports, etc. changed.
Taxes... Until a change is made, current new hires going directly overseas are expected to pay taxes on the moving expenses. However, if you are transferring from one position to another within the federal government, you can at least receive those taxes back through a tax allowance. (WTA/RITA).
I am looking for a Social Studies position either middle or high school. Please let me know if you hear or see any postings. I've made the list for one, but still waiting to see if the interview opportunity will be extended.
HelpOthersTalk to your current principal and make sure they have given you a good recommendation. Maybe try to find a way to upload your most recent evaluations, especially if they are exceptional. Hundreds of people CAN make it onto a referral list, but only the top three candidates (as they appear on paper) tend to be interviewed.
hahaAgree it's definitely not too late (and still early compared to past years). Being in the system also should not be a negative and may be a bit of a positive.
Hi, I just got a call saying they are now moving me to Okinawa, the middle school. Im asking around for information if anyone has any on location:) Thanks!
It may end up that you need to take a pass on this p...See MoreThat does sound like an unfortunate turn of events. You should try and get some clarification from HR (and from your fiancee about his status, benefits, etc.). Going in with the idea that you are likely going to leave after a year is not a great situation for you or anyone else involved.
It may end up that you need to take a pass on this position and then apply in Korea as a local hire once you get there. Keep on HR. stressing that you really need Korea due to personal reasons, etc. There may be other openings that come up that they could slot you into.
FrankI figure the correct salary will be worked out on the final offer. My tentative offer was way low, no credit for education or experience and it wasn't even from the correct professional pay scale. I haven't received my firm offer yet, but my hr rep told me it would be corrected.
