thats just how my company does it. they fly us home to our home of record every summer. I have kept my parents address as my residency and mail address. Which international school will you be at?

You can keep your address listed as a US address which will help. If you are living and working outside of the US though (and using your int'l school employer as a reference and/or for years of experience), it can still be questioned since the actual policy on benefits refers to where you are located when you accept the offer.

@CF-SLP, I think you are fine to be hired once you have your CCC however, DODEA doesn't accept state licensure for our positions. It has to be from your states dept of ed. I had to submit my old cf paperwork because I wasn't paying ETS $50 for a copy of my scores from years ago.

Thanks, @SLP-T! It is required for me to be licensed with my state's Department of Education for my CF anyway, so that will all be in order. Thanks for everyone's input!

After receiving an email about being referred is it ok to contact the principal if I haven't heard anything or am I supposed to wait and see if they contact me and if not just let it go? What is the best course of action, the best approach?

There is always that chance but they are not likely to NOT interview you just because of it. If your name is on the list then interviewing you is not a breach of protocol.
But that is a decision everyone has to make for themselves, take a small chance or sit back and wait and hope.

They use the references on the application. If they need additional info they will contact the references via email and ask. That has been my experience. It depends on each principal/school.

I've been going through the same thing. I'm trying not to pester my HR Rep about this since it's close to being a month since I've sent in my paperwork, and I'd hope that everything would be completed in time for the start of the next school year. Glad to know it's not just me!

My husband interviewed for them a month ago and hasn't heard anything. We assumed he didn't get the job after a week.

This just happened to my wife last month. She interviewed and her references were contacted the next day. After three weeks of waiting, she called hq to find that the offer had been sent to someone else. Hopefully her case isn't the norm and you'll get the offer.

They generally do a credit check as part of the background check. It's hard to say exactly what it would take to disqualify you. I know of people with bankruptcies etc. that have still been hired so it really is a case by case basis.
