What is the best online program to get your state license? I might have a job as an educational aide for DODD but that means I can't do my state license program. Ive looked at WGU's program but for that you can't work for 4 months (while you do your student teaching) which obviously won't work if I'm working as an aide.
hahaYou might try Teach Now (https://teach-now.com/) or Teacher Ready (https://www.teacherready.org/) and see if they could work for you. If so, they are generally cheaper and faster than other methods of getting certified.
One of these programs (I forget which) only requires one week of student teaching.
I know we all had background investigations but I never specifically heard anything about being granted a clearance so I wasn't sure if that was just an investigation regarding criminality and potential liability as a teacher rather than for security purposes
I know I've asked a bunch of questions, but here's another. When is it time to give up hope in being hired for next school year and come to terms with waiting for another year?
hahaAs posted, if you are willing to take an offer once school starts then you never actually have to give up, just realize that the odds slowly get longer as the summer progresses and school starts. Hires do happen throughout the year, just in smaller numbers (but you only need one!).
Is it, or can it be, held against you for emailing and asking questions? I am trying to make sure all of my to do's are covered, but don't want to be seen as a bother.
southernteachI always avoid being the squeaky wheel if possible but with my case manager it has been necessary. I also had to go above their heads to a supervisor to obtain any sort of clarification!
Don't fill bad about being the squeaky wheel. The sooner you learn to advocate for yourself in this organization, the more successful you will be. But being squeaky isn't enough. You need to pay attention and stay informed.
I was recently offered a tentative offer for a speech therapist/assessor position at camp humphreys! Does anyone know 1. how long after my paperwork is all sent they usually give a final offer? Also, 2. After final offer is given what are the following processes? 3. Im planning to move to Korea in mid -July and was wondering if anyone knew what the options for housing were for civilians? Are we allowed to live on base or must we live off base, Is it expensive??
I have an additional question about passports! Im in the process of filling out my paperwork for the burgundy passport needed to go into Korea but I am confused on what would happen to my current US Passport...I read you cannot travel with the burgundy passport so would I get my passport back? How does this all work :(((
HelpOthersAnd usually you don't pay that until after you have received your advanced pay. Therefore, the only money you need before pay is the at least one month's TQSA expenses.
I did not take out the advance pay, as I didn't want to be stuck paying it back all year. I dipped into savings and put things on my credit card. It all depends what you're comfortable with!
For those of you who have made the move abroad, what have you done, and how'd it work out for you? I welcome any advice from those of you who have been through this.
IdaIt feels really good to go through things as you plan to start over. It was one of the best parts of a crazy summer, dropping stuff off at Goodwill.
ScholarTwo of my interview requests did not have referral list correlations. But I hit a lot of referral lists and only one came to interview request. So your name is in the hat, whether you know it or not
