HelpOthersThere was an SLP position posted in USA Jobs. Set up automatic e-mails so you are notified any time a similar position appears on USA Jobs. In the meanwhile, work on your resume and look at old postings for SLPs, so you know what they want to see in your resume.
Do people usually listen their cell numbers on EAS? I'm debating whether to list my home phone or cell.
Also, are interviewed usually scheduled after school hours? I'm worried that if I am blessed enough to receive an interview call, it may happen while I'm teaching. Is there flexibility with scheduling interviews?
hahaShe "should" be fine. If DoDEA took the effort to post all of those USA Jobs notices I am assuming that they will be accepting and considering the applications that it generated.
HelpOthersUSA Jobs has posted deadlines each time. If you do not upload all the required information by the deadline, it will not be seen. She can look in USA jobs for the status of her application. If still available, the position will be posted again. Apply again. :)
somedayIs there anyway you can Facebook/ google these principals. I had one from an old school that was an asst. Superintendent in another county and I was able to find his email and office number for the application.
HelpOthersYou have to have three evaluations at least. Try Linked-in. I found an internship supervisor working at an international school by finding him on Linked-in. The university didn't even know where he was.
What if I accept an offer to a location where I'm not able to ship my car. What would be some of options when it comes to selling a car that is still financed?
If I do receive an offer from the DoD, I am concerned that my spouse will be out of luck with a job (he is NOT a teacher). Anyone who currently teaches overseas - what do your spouses do? Mine has a BA in Business Administration and owned his own landscaping business (which he sold so we could POSSIBLY go on this adventure).Thoughts?
Any advice? S...See MoreHello everyone! I applied for the DoD for the upcoming school year (2018-2019) and I'm getting so anxious hearing about so many people who have already been contacted for an interview or even offered a position already! I'm contemplating e-mailing all of the principals of the schools I'm interested in (yes all 40+ of them!).
Any advice? Should I e-mail all the principals? Or should I just sit on my hands and be patient?
There is a slight chance it could somehow help and that contact sparks an interest so that if/when your name appears on a referral list they decide to interview you.
There is a slight chance that it could somehow harm your chances (e.g. principals get annoyed or offended by you going outside of the established system, you make a grammatical error that stands out and they decide they would not interview you anyway, J/K kind of).
So, do it if it makes you feel better to be doing something and you are the gambling type. Otherwise, keep those hands warm. :D
HelpOthersI will tell you from experience that principals already receive too many e-mails and have difficulty reading and responding to the ones that need responses. I would not hassle them unless you are on a referral list. However, if you can find a secretary's e-mail, maybe letting them know could help. Just a thought.
