I received referrals for a few positions (Fort Bragg, Puerto Rico, and SC) back in Feb and have not received anything since... Will they notify me if they choose someone for the position, or will I be left in the lurch wondering?

As SpedTeacher posted, opinions vary on whether it's worth it/advisable to email principals directly. I've come around to the idea that once you are on a referral list then it does no harm and might do a small amount of good to reach out to those specific principals. Actually, the only way to get certified with DoDEA is to have the required credit hours in the specified classes/subjects. State certification generally reduces the required hours by half.

I will throw my information up also. I have had an interview. I am also science which is MS HS General, Biology and Chemistry (still working on 4 credits for math.) I have ten total qualifications. I have ten years of experience and considered Masters plus 30. I really think that I will see more action once I finish up this math course.

Not sure about that particular class, but I used this site to help me find a school--https://www.guidetoonlineschools.com/online-schools-- Maybe you could find something by digging around the list it provides. I like it b/c it ranks accredited schools by affordability.

Grand Canyon generally has a few classes that have Moderate to Severe in the title and description.

In my experience the best thing is to email your case manager directly and list the specific classes and university and ask if they will accept them for the requirement. Then you have an email from them that you can attach to remind them when you ask for them to re-evaluate your qualifications. That's what I did for my extra classes and it worked. ...See More

Tough to give you a definitive answer. In general, it used to be that your EAS was not considered finalized until you had submitted everything (e.g. state certs, transcripts, required numbers of references, etc.).

Generally speaking your application is not finished until it is finished. So if you are really looking to get hired, get it finished. The question in your OP becomes unimportant if you get your application finished.

Unfortunately, I agree that PD does not count, only university credits in the required/named classes are accepted by DoDEA. State certification also does not count (which makes some sense since states often have vary different requirements for the same certification, allow you add certs through testing alone, etc.). You need to take the required classes if you wish to continue pursuing the application process. You will not be hired unless qualififed.

I can't answer your specific questions, but I can say that for mainland Japan I have interviewed three times over the last couple of years, and for every interview I never received a referral. On the other hand, I have been on a couple of referrals for other countries, and was never asked for an interview.

If there is a system, it has not been shared with us. In general, principals are the catalyst for filling a position. They let HR know they have an opening, apply for the position to be authorized to be filled, and request/pull a referral list.
