HelpOthersWe are NOT limited like the military personnel are. We receive 18,000 pounds total for HHG, UB, and NTS. (350 pounds per person over age 12 up to a limit of 1000 for UB, can't remember limit for NTS, because chose not to use it).
Question: will being hired as a long term sub affect my time in DODEA? What I mean is, will my time teaching still count as a full year? I am concerned about my pay as well. Will I still receive the same benefits (COLA, retirement, step 3 on the pay scale) as a long term sub? My husband and I are really worried because we are counting on the COLA to pay for our children's daycare. We have never had to put our children in daycare so this is an extra expense. Also, realistically, how long will it really take to get my background check re-done? It took 4 months for the first one to go through, will it be the same kind of timeframe?
Thank you for any kind of advice you can give. I am seriously stressing out.
Ms. BI have a question about subbing . When you applied to be a sub did you go through USA jobs.gov or did you create a packet and turn it into the school ? Also did they allow you to longer term sub during the previous school year ?
3. Awaiting travel orders- I was told it could take 2 weeks to receive the travel orders.
It is almost Aug. 1st, and I don't know how I will have the time to complete shipping of my HHG etc. and make it in country prior to the teacher work days?
Beloved@DodeaHopeful - what subject at Humphreys?? I interviewed for the math position in June but now I learned from calling HR, because I still have NOT been contacted that ther is no math only position showing but math with another subject. I'm waiting to hear back from Dr. Kpinkpin and Shelly Kennedy to get some clarification.
DodeaHopefulBeloved, unfortunately I can't give you closure. My referral was for science and math. They're moving into a new building right now, so it's hectic right now Also, I haven't even spoken to Dr. Kpinkpin yet. Ms. Kennedy interviewed me.
My husband said that when he walked in to the VPC yesterday, they told him he was good to go because he had already emailed all the documents. Thought it might be a tip for those of you who are about to send your POV.
So I went today thinking I would get everything done, but all I ended up doing was filling out an HHG/UB form and then I was told to come back tomorrow for a briefing meeting. What's in this meeting? How long does it take for someone to call about moving? I would assume I can't make ticket arrangements until I know my moving date? Blerg.
SandArtWhat Angel said. My papers requested July 25th as the day to pack out. The movers then said they'd come July 20th to be out by July 25th. They planned initially on 4 days, but they only needed 3.
HelpOthersI attended the briefing- took about two hours, may differ depending on the size of the group. They will review what you completed and bring up any obvious misunderstandings for you and help you better understand or fix things on the form. You should have dates for moving the same day if not before this briefing.
HopefulOk. So does that mean I would basically be at square one in terms of getting a position in Japan or Europe? I would be "just another" applicant in EAS?
