haha Glad to hear it, but not getting a referral when other people did, is not really evidence of any problem. There could easily be 1000s of people in EAS with a certain set of qualifications who want the same location(s). It's very, very possible that they use different sets of criteria each time they create a referral list.

And we know with almost 100% certainty that referral notifications are not always emailed to the relevant applicants when referral lists are created. Many posters here have reported not receiving referral not...See More

I had a residency permit in korea and lived there a little under 2 years ago and have been living stateside since then. Am i ineligible to be hired by dodea as a teacher? Thanks.

haha I can't say for certain (because I can't really keep up with the rule changes/rule enforcement), but I believe you would be fine, since you have been back in the states for over a year.

Is there anything you are leaving out?

Are you Korean by ethnicity? Is your spouse Korean? Did either of your parents hold a Korean passport.

Barring any of these complications, you are eligible.

Cover Letters

I saw a previous post here haha said that cover letters and resumes were not necessary for DoDEA. I just want to verify.

Currently I have a CV, cover, license, university transcripts(Masters in Physics) and DD214 as my File Attachments.

Any input appreciated!

haha It's true (at least in the past) that CV's and/or cover letters were not required nor encouraged as attachments on EAS. If the system allows you to upload them now, I guess they wouldn't do any harm, but have no real way of knowing that be true.

Soda A principal told me in an interview that my letter of interest is what put me at the top of his list. I'm sure it varies by interviewer.

I was hired in November 2020. I just received an email saying that I need to update my EAS application. My question is: In the address section, do I add my actual address in Japan or my APO? I still have my home in the USA. Is the Japan address permanent or temporary?

So confused.....

wanderer That's what I went to Germany on in fall 2016 when the background checks were first handed over to a contractor or something and the process took 2 months when before I made it to Japan in like two weeks. My principal didn't actually have me teach line of sight (instead it was normal) and I'm not sure exactly when the LOSS was lifted....if ever.
