I feel as if I am not good at interviewing. Just had a surprise one just about 2 hours ago. I get so nervous. When the interviewer asks a question my brain goes "..." then I just spew out babble... sigh. Also the longer I'm on the phone the more nervous I get and to me, my voice starts to shake.
SandArtAngel, thanks to the people here, I had materials printed and spread out on my kitchen table and dining table.
I had lessons, examples of data, math standards... so when I got nervous I just had to look down for ideas. I like phone interviews better than in person, but I really dislike both.
I am trying to talk a sibling into applying for next year to DoDEA, but it seems like most of the people getting hired are sped?
Is that correct?
Any general education teachers?
Any plain old math?
Pre-k-kinder, non-sped?
I do not want to get this person's hopes up since I am sure I got lucky, but I think the sped and math shortage seems to have helped some of you and me as well.
HelpOthersSeveral positions are vacant at Fort Knox, KY. However, overseas, the names that are pulled for interviews are more likely to have Veterans preference or be certified in more than one area.
If I could know when I am leaving that would give me some peace. Of course, I want the firm offer too, but we need someone to care for our dogs so they miss the quarantine in kennels. That is thousands of dollars.... Plus, we need to list our house too.
TravelingTeacher to DaeguCongrats Reenie! Sounds like a lot of us are headed to Daegu! You're not sure what you will be teaching? Can't wait to meet everyone!
Has anyone else had holdups and delays throughout their processing. Mine started out quickly. Then it took a while to get the background information and now after checking the mail for the past week daily for my fingerprint cards that were suppose to arrive a week ago I find out that they were never sent. Now the waiting commences again...
SandArtSorry to hear that, Best. I am frustrated to not have a firm offer, but at least there's been progress. It certainly is a reason to remain positive.
Hi all, I had an interview yesterday and none of my references have been checked. Last time I had an interview, they called them immediately following our call. I'm starting to think that if she hasn't called any references 24 hours later, my chances are slim. What have you all experienced regarding this timeline?
SandArtLike teach, my references have not been checked yet and I got my tentative offer about a month ago. I ran into an old principal a week ago and asked him again, but still no one ever reached out to him or any of my other references.
Are there others o...See MoreI submitted all my paperwork for my background check on April 13th and still haven't heard anything. I know they haven't called any of the people I listed as references yet. :( I'm starting to worry something is wrong with my paperwork! I sent an e-mail asking for an update, so hopefully something will get things moving!
Hey all I just got my tentative offer from Daegu and am so excited...so here is the elephant in the room... how safe is South Korea now and moving forward ...any input from folks currently there would be most helpful!
TravelingTeacher to DaeguI am also off to Daegu! I've been talking with some teachers currently there and they say it is very safe! They all love it there!
