If I were to get hired back on with DoDEA, what would be available to my spouse in reference to a job? I want to make sure that employment for him would be possible. Not that this would be a deal breaker, but helpful.
What kind of escalation would need to occur for family members to be evacuated from South Korea and/or Japan? Not trying to be an alarmist, just curious....
Basically, there would have to be open conflict and/or imminent threat of attack to those bases/areas. There are policies that outline how and when it should happen. Some of that information is here:
Also under fil...See MoreIf the application area has 11 green check marks, and under target location and date has 2017-2018, you SHOULD be fine. I know I was paranoid at one point. Made sure I pressed submit for every category more than once.
Has anyone else had an issue with qualifications on their application saying pending for a long period of time? I emailed HR and they say I am active, but the pending qualifications section makes me nervous.
Redclover711I have a resume attached to mine, but I added it under "application." I took this to mean general application materials not otherwise listed and it let me add it. I just added it with the appropriate title. I also used this to upload my reference letters and letter of introduction.
SandArtThanks for sharing, Redclover. HR told me to NOT add the resume. I think we should be able to add it as it has more info on there that is needed. I tried to add as much as I could in my application, but I think the resume is a nice addition no matter what.
In general, HR considers everyone in the system that had submitted/updated application by the renewal date prior to recruiting season for the following school year. And many principals are working off of referral lists that have already been pulled. That being said, there have been people who applied after that and still received referrals/offers. So, it is not definitely too late for next year as there will be positions opening and recruiting being done up to and even after the start of next school year.
TeachMany folks do not resign until it is closer to the end of the year, so openings are always possible. Also, increases in enrollment cause hiring to happen late into the summer and even in early fall. I have a friend who was hired in September and got overseas in October.
I continue to read about all of you who have been interviewed and placed and I am wondering what it is exactly that DoDEA is looking for when they are choosing who they pull for and interview or referral. Can anyone give me some clarification. I have been in the system for 2 years now and nothing has come my way.
SandArtThank you, haha. I like coming back here to read other people's experiences. I plan on 4-6 years. Both kids will be graduated from college by then, so I know ahead of time that it won't be forever. I want to be a very hands on grandma, if that ever happens.
Anyone else having a problem with the page refreshing while you are typing and the message in progress being lost? I don't know if it's just me or the site but I am starting to type responses on Word and cutting and pasting them in if it's more than a sentence or two.
Weird and frustrating. I'll be glad when the "beta testing" is done.
angelIt refreshes every few minutes. Which sucks when writing message or reading a thread. Everything collapses back to original length and you have to scroll back to where you were.
