Personally, I would not want to bring a leased vehicle. How would you get it back? How are damages covered? Will you be able to insure it if you don't have the title in your name? etc. Look into the costs and specifics by looking up the information at the military facility where you are going. I have taken a POV to West Germany and purchased a used POV in Germany as recently as 2012. Considering the shipping wear/tear on the POV, it is easier to purchase a used POV from a dealership with the Advanced DoDEA Salary option. You can rent a car on post for a week to check out used cars your first free weekend.

My Passport Specialist Emailed today to say the Visa's are back and she will be overnighting them. 7 weeks to take care of something that was actually done in 4 business days

Sounds about right. That matches my experiences with them
7 weeks. But watch how fast they get you into the classroom once your feet hit the ground.
I'm not a big fan of the way they in-process new hires, or they way they treat current employees during a PCS. And visa support, is especially subpar.

And now I just got a reminder email and the 0300 is gone from the position. Deadline is 1430 CST. This was just strange because it appears they were searching inactive EAS applications to fill the referral list but it isn't an internal position because it specifically states of you are a current Dodds teacher you do not qualify.

Osan is a great spot! Wonderful area. Good principals come and go, nothing you can do on that. Once you work on an Air Force base you get spoiled! No worries about a Korean spouse, lots of DoDEA teachers are married to locals. Good Luck!

Generally, there is a hub you would be working near/from, and would need to relocate to that area. With virtual school this year, that has been less clear cut with many teachers detailed to DVS and working from their current/alternate location.

On base housing isn't an option, but there are good urbanizations/neighborhoods that are great options for families. The tax rate is higher. We pay PR tax and federal.
