Has anyone gotten an interview for an admin position, past or present? I'm curious about what the process looks like and how it may differ from a teacher interview. For example, I had to complete an action plan and develop a PD presentation for a district interview last month, so I was wondering if its similar to that structure.

I'm specifically thinking of administrators, SLP's, OT's, SP's, Counselors, etc.
Is the process different than it is for teachers? Does it take longer to hear anything? What are the interviews like?
SodaI'm an SLP. I've made several referral list in Germany and one for Rota, but no interviews as of yet. As far as I know, the process is the same for us as teachers.
Join the facebook...See MoreThe Rotator/AMC usually IS an option and they can reserve pet spots for you, but you pay for them. The problem is that right now with the CoVID-19 situation, most flights are booked out (no seats available) until at least September and pet spots are probably full too, as they only have about 3-5 per flight on a good day.
Join the facebook sites for Guam, especially pet ones. The members of the pet one where I am have recommended a few pet transport companies available if you cannot get your pet onto your AMC or commercial flight.
bemMy family and I just flew into Ramstein on the rotator with our 2 dogs this past weekend. I specifically requested (several times) to be booked on the rotator so I didn't have issues with our dogs.
Does anyone know if they are putting off hiring for Library due to the uncertainty of the world and schools right now? Just wondering. I've gotten a couple referrals, but no interview requests.
To be honest, it doesn't seem like any significant amount of tech experience/knowledge is required for the position. Most of the classes seem to use contracted modules/units with very little, if any, designing/lesson building required on the part of the virtual teacher (at least in the classes I have seen).
The vast majority of the job seemed to be emailing students, answering some questions about why something isn't working (I'll submit a ticket, log out, log back in etc. are the usual answers) and putting reminder announcement in schoology/gradespeed.
1234567FfmMy area of experience is German, Spanish and ESL. I learned during these months about online teaching. Swing or sink. For sure DoDEA they have a system and curriculum, and as a teacher you follow by helping students with the tools you are given. I think, feedback and moderation. Lets see...
A job posting for substitute teachers in Italy stated the same statement about dual citizenship; however, the job posting for South Korea(same position) did not have any restriction/requirement about dual citizenship on USAJOBS.gov.
I was wondering if that rule only applies to certain countries?
This is the sort of question where it is a poor practice to generalize.
The info in USA Jobs for a particular country may or may not be correct. The SOFA status of a dual citizen is a poorly understood legal gray area. USA Jobs is not the definitive reference source for that subject.
teachsciThank you. I'm going to reach out to HR to get a definitive answer but wanted to get an insight from here while waiting and maybe find a teacher working with dual citizenship.
Thanks for your reply. A friend of mine got this email that said they do not book flights to use amc you need at exception letter. I tried to forward it to you but it wont let me cut and paste it Thanks Denise
Get busy first thing Monday on the telephone. Call SATO and TMO and find out exactly who does the booking for the rotator, and all the particular details. Make sure you understand the process/paperwork.
If "letters" are needed, then by 9:00 am you should know the details, and be on the phone to Europe-East HR to get said letter.
You need that reservation, or you will lay out big bucks for some circuitous routing on a civilian airline. Fingers crossed that the rotator still has available seats.
The other choice is for your pets to learn German.
In the emails, they said, "your name may be referred for multiple vacancies simultaneously." Does it mean that even though my referral list is about a maths position, I can still be considered for science and whatever as long as I am qualified and the school has those vacancies?
Is it possible that I have an interview for a maths position, but end up being placed for a science position at the same school? How likely would that be? Thank you very much for your input!
HelpOthersEven people within a school can end up teaching different grade levels or different subjects depending on the need of the school so yes it is a possibility as long as it's an area where you are qualified.
Forget about it. It's a poor practice to point ou...See MoreNobody knows why you got two separate referral emails for the same position. It's not important. You could call HR for an explanation. Whatever line they throw at you will sound reasonable, but upon reflection you see through the excuse, and recognize it for what it probably is, a mistake.
Forget about it. It's a poor practice to point out possible HR deficiencies. Keep you eye on the ball - the interview!
HelpOthers is correct. Once hired, you teach whatever they tell you to teach. You may get hired for one position, but that can be switched at any time. They will tell you it's to meet the "needs of the students". But really it's at the whim of Admin.
Some teachers get their position changed every year.
