hi, when do they typically call your references? Just finished an interview and I felt like it was going well but they didn't ask for my reference information which they did in my other interview. It was going long (40 min) so I'm hoping they just forgot?
I just finished adding Moderate/Severe Disabilities to my qualifications. I would like to start on the next set. Would it be more beneficial to work on being qualified to teach Kindergarten or SPED Severe/Multiple Disabilities???
hahaDepends on the transcripts/what she already has of course. I do agree that SPED Pre-K (PSCD) would be a great addition, covering basically all of the potential SPED openings.

Applicants who wish to request a copy of a professional evaluation may submit a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. For instructions on how to submit
I noticed some schools are hiring for principals in Japan. Would interviews occur under new principals, current principals, or by another administrator?
Thank yo...See MoreWhat is needed to be certified to teach AP classes with DoDEA (highschool)? Is it an overall AP certification or endorsement or is it content specific?
Will DoDEA honor additional transcripts after an offer has been made? Can you submit more transcripts later? (cannot get additional transcripts because schools are closed)
Yes, DoDEA will generally review transcripts and increase your salary lane after the offer or even after you are employed (and should also continue to add subjects areas to your cert if that is what you are wanting to know).
When I look in the File Attachments section of the EAS applicaiton "resume" is not listed in the "type" drop down. Is there a type of file that a resume fits under that I am not figuring out, or is there just no reason to upload a resume?
I recall reading about former employees needing copies of performance appraisals, but don't recall the exact advice. I will try to find it and post it.
It looks like I'll be traveling one of the days training is scheduled. I'm very concerned about this. Are teachers allowed to take days off during summer virtual high school?
IsItFriday? It's virtual, and much of the instruction is asynchronous.
Nobody is watching your every moment, or going out of their way to track you. Just get the job done, and no one cares what you do for that particular day.
People do get sick, even in virtual teaching, and even in the summer. Just be a trooper, and maintain instruction.
HR and HQ regularly share that there are thousands of applicants in the EAS. (it 's less sharing, and more a boast. They do it sometimes to remind teachers that they are replaceable.) They should only rarely have trouble finding a qualified candidate.
When there is trouble, it's invariably because HR has screwed up, or Admin is playing games, trying to direct the system towards a favored candidate.
There is a very serious amount of favoritism built into the system. Watch the senior Admin types. Invariably they end up in positions that are very convenient for them. And there are often last-minutes openings which are filled by a spouse. Senior admin types seem to get very lucky at finding slots for which their spouse is the best qualified candidate.
