Bob, before I (also) depart permanently, here's exactly why I'm leaving/resigning my Teachers.Net membership, which you could, though completely incorrectly, dispense with as being mere "parting shots" from a disgruntled malcontent: Having read your clearly gratuitously insulting reply to Nathan, and also having just read several emails from severa...See MoreBob, before I (also) depart permanently, here's exactly why I'm leaving/resigning my Teachers.Net membership, which you could, though completely incorrectly, dispense with as being mere "parting shots" from a disgruntled malcontent: Having read your clearly gratuitously insulting reply to Nathan, and also having just read several emails from several other regulars who tell me they also have elected *former member* status, each for the reason of frustration/dissatisfaction with the board's management/you, our little consensus is that you are clinging to an *already proven failed* strategy for which you don't have a path forward yet, thus you are now simply lashing-out, "displaying your T", rather than resolving, not unlike some of our teenage students will do from time to time. Your unacceptable reaction uncovers a lack of comprehension for exactly what changes are happening here, and at websites worldwide, since the advent of truly effective ad-blockling software. I.e. you're disconnected from what *actually* makes your personal income from this chatboard even possible, hint: it's not the ads, it's the posted content, the questions and the answers. Users don't come here to see your site's ads, and, your "reach-in-window-take" example to Nathan doesn't apply, at all, and is astoundingly wrong-headed too. Consider an example with a real brick and mortar store; after all, it is you writing below that Nathan, and by extension *all* your site's visitors, ~should be judged~ by brick and mortar store standards: Before you can enter that store to look around to see if it even has "the" shirt you like/need, you are told that you *must* agree (or else be a "shoplifter") to now-&-continuously-until-you-exit-that-store, watch ads/commercials from various other businesses, and, were you to want to actually buy a shirt there, i.e. analagous to posting here at this chatboard, your transaction, whether by card or cash, is repeatedly delayed/declined/repeated due solely to the store's unnecesasary/negligent technological failures. Seeing the issue yet, Bob? You want/need educated teachers to regularly visit your site, but any 4 year old will correctly and speedily decide to go elsewhere, not into your "store", in the first place. You teacher-users have been more than patient with you already, Bob; it's on you now to change course, or not. Need more? Allow me, please, to state *exactly why* you have had this board's income stream: Were it not for the regulars from within the DoDDS and DDESS systems, who take time to freely post helpful/accurate information to the sundry questons from aspiring applicants, which information is safely assumed (by us) to, in turn, be read by many, MANY more non-posting readers/lurkers, all of us together forming the number of "eyeballs" that your webserver's metrics diligently tally, which totals you then use to convince potential Advertisement Buyers to continue buying Ads, and then which $$ in turn puts some $$ directly into your pocket, this board has no justification to exist and your income from it declines/ends.
