I do currently have a connection in DoDEA. We have been working on getting me back in. I unfortunately had to leave due to a close family member being diagnosed with colon cancer at the time, so leaving is what was decided at the time. I am now ready to reapply now that my children are going adults.

Well, I hope this is your year, Wonderlust! Like you, I have two adult kids who are in college, so this is the perfect time for us to move out of the country since our kids will both be out of state next year.

Why do people ever leave DoDDS?
I can only answer for myself for the benefit of anyone else joining or working on joining DoDDS. Here is my two cents for what it's worth. Thank you, haha. I like coming back here to read other people's experiences. I plan on 4-6 years. Both kids will be graduated from college by then, so I know ahead of time that it won't be forever. I want to be a very hands on grandma, if that ever happens.
