Do teachers have the option to live on base? Or just off-base?
SpedTeacher74 Depends on location, whether base housing is full...etc. In some places I'd rather live off base...others I would probably prefer to live on base...but it's what's available and the rules of that base or post I think.

haha The vast majority of bases require teachers to live off base. A few bases offer the option of either, depending on availability.

Frank If living on base is an option, is there any way to know what size unit you'd be given? I'm a school psych with 7 years experience; I have a wife and three children- Hypothetically, do you think I'd be given a 2 bedroom, a 3 bedroom, or a 4 bedroom unit (if they were available)?

haha In general, they are pretty good about giving you what you need, if it is available. Teachers qualify for pretty high quarters rating (like an officer). On base is only available at a handful of locations so the odds are that you won't have to worry about it.
