Anyone working or have information on Tech Ed programs in DODEA schools, especially middle schools? Are they digital or traditional? Well supported with supplies and tools? Rotational or elective? What are the sizes of specialists classes in DODEA schools? How often do job openings come up?

Thanks in advance for any information.
haha I'm more familiar with what I see at the HS level. In HS you are looking at electives. Courses include Word Processing, Digital Media, Computer Applications/Coding etc. I have also seen Web Design, Animation, Accounting, Video Communication, etc. offered. HelpOthers The same is true for middle school. This would be an elective course. DoDEA has lots of resources. I would say they are more digital than traditional. Class sizes are likely around 20ish, but will depend on location. As for how often, I think this is a position that current DoDEA teachers often move into from other classrooms.

tech_ed Someone in a previous post mentioned candidate lists that are pulled by principals/administrators. They said some principals interview the first 10 candidates and others might pick the bottom 3, middle 3 and top 3.

I was wondering how many candidates are typically on the pulled lists...... is it 20, 25? 50? or ??

HelpOthers I believe that most principals receive a list of 10 or so and that the people who show up on this list are ranked based on number of certifications and vet preference first, so if an applicant has only one area of certification and no preference, they may not be seen.

haha My understanding is that it varies. I have heard of lists of 1, 6 etc when there are limited numbers of applicants with all of the required qualifications.

The most I have heard of on a list is 25 but I have no idea how common that is.
