Good luck! Yokota is a great location and community. ESL resources are very thin on the ground in the area. They had one person shared between schools and I believe now they are down to a substitute doing the job. So, it might be to your benefit to mention/play up your ESL qualification.

This might be the time to be bold and reach out to the principal with an email detailing your training and experience and enthusiasm for the position. Nothing to lose at this point!
