Can an HR processing delay cost you an offer?

Three weeks ago I accepted a tentative offer. Two weeks ago I was told there was a glitch with my housing paperwork but that my rep would check with another rep and get back to me last Monday. Last week has come and gone and still no replies to my phone messages and emails (politely asking any word?). I was also told that my college transcripts, employment verification, health check, etc. wasn't going to be bothered with until this issue got straightened out. Sane me knows I have plenty of time until August, but paranoid me who really, really wants this job is freaking out. Is it possible to lose an offer because of a hold up in processing?

haha Did HR ever figure out what documentation they wanted from you to resolve the LQA issue? In doing some research, the form we submitted to show that we still qualified for LQA even though we were hired from OCONUS was part of this procedural guide:

Scholar Have you tried calling from a different phone line? I'm not saying everyone checks caller ID but it's worth a shot if someone around you has a phone from a different area code (or you have something like magic jack where it pops up as a USA number)

Bett Ahhh my magic jack might be the issue, but I've also sent emails. Haha I will nab that document on page 29 and begin working on it, so that when I do get a response I'll be ready! Bett hahaha: p 29 is the one my HR person sent me. Maybe you can answer my questions on it. When it says Duty Station is it referring to my current job? Both my rep and I were confused about this since it seemed like it meant military. She thought it meant the new job, but looking at it again, I'm thinking they want to know about this one --- whoops duh...See More

haha Yes, my understanding is that everything on that page would pertain to your current overseas position since you are trying to justify your case for LQA etc. by how/why you were recruited for that position.
