Essentially, you have to go and establish residency elsewhere - and that means getting a driver's license, registering to vote, etc.

someday Mary-Lorraine is there anywhere that has information about which states would consider you out-of-state. I would need to check up on this for Florida.

HelpOthers Janie, it seems like most consider you out of state if you have not lived in the state for the previous year. Some have exceptions if your child graduates from a high school in their state. Currently, we live in KY and have lived here less than a year. someday Thanks for the information. I looked into it and we would be considered out-of-state for tuition purposes. I never even considered that college costs might be affected. I assumed that maintaining the certification and driver's license would be enough. I did find a work-around which isn't unique to Florida (of course, I didn't check every state.) If...See More
