I know someone posted recently that EVERYONE has to get a TB test, but that's not how I interpreted the OF 178. My interpretation is that regardless of age, the new hire has to get a TB test, and those over 40 must have an EKG done. A TB test is not mandatory for all dependents, just all new hires. Has anyone been able to get this dispelled through HR?

HelpOthers Like TEACH said, if you have children who plan to attend DoDEA schools, they will need several vaccines and the TB, so I suggest reading their website and having everything done while they are getting their physicals if they are having physicals done.

Teach haha---Maybe the information they sent me was incorrect. My kids didn't need TB test when we moved to Okinawa, so I thought it was a little odd. I will have to ask. My 13-year old is really scared of shots/needles, so she would be happy to NOT have to deal with more needles.

Snow Lane Teach, I saw that in our packet too. I wonder if they update that packet each year.

I ❤ sped I just spoke to HR. Only the sponsor needs to get a TB test and any sponsors over 40 need an EKG.
