School year on EAS?

For this question on the EAS, " For which School Year do you wish to be considered?", the responses are not standard school years. For example, I had checked 2016-2017, then changed that to 2018-2019, after which the option for 2016-2017 completely disappeared. My question... what school year is this? (Fall hiring, obviously.) I would have thought 2017-2018, but that's not an option. I have currently checked 2018-2019, but that doesn't seem to make sense. I can probably reset to get the 2016-2017 back. Any advice?

haha 2016-2017 is the current school year (ending in a few days for many people). 2017-2018 is the school year starting this August. If the option for that disappeared it mean the system is considering you not eligible for hiring for the upcoming year. 2018-2019 would mean being hired for the fall for the school year following the upcoming one.

HelpOthers Correct. This coming school year is 2017-2018, but in order to apply for the coming school-year your application needed to be final already. Now, for new applicants, the earliest year to apply for is the following school-year: 2018-2019.

teacher42 Thanks for the info everybody. Odd. I finalized everything as I do every year. Big pretty green checks and all. Nothing changed from last year... except I'm a year older! No worries.

HelpOthers Teacher42. Even though your transcripts and certification did not change, you must upload them again to be considered for the current school-year. teacher42 Mary-Lorraine, thank you! I had no idea! Silly me! I thought I was just to review everything and did not know I had to re-upload, and the fact that I was given the 'green light' led me to believe all was well. I wondered why I was getting no referrals this year! Ha! Will wonders never cease! Thanks again for taking the time to explain.
