I bounced a check in 2003, and the local grocery store issued a warrant for my arrest (it was $14!) and subsequently I had to pay a huge fine. It now appears as "fraud" on my background checks.

Will this keep me from getting an offer from DODEA?
SandArt How do you know about the results of your background check?

A family member works for a bank and my husband is a fraud investigator, and it was and still is a huge issue regardless of the amount. Most people know they bounce a check and take care of it. Some, unfortunately, won't attempt to take care of it till they are charged with fraud...See More

Bentobeth Unfortunately, I was 20 and had recently left my abusive husband and did NOT get the notification that it bounced until I got a call from the Sheriff! Yikes.
