It possible that any offer can be taken back right up until you report (and even then you can be let go without cause for the first two years). BUT, it is rare that it happens. If you know there is nothing big that can come up on a background, etc you should be fine.

No examples of offers being rescinded that I know of or have heard of 2nd (or even 3rd hand). I have heard of a few examples of (and know one personally) where the teacher left after one year. It was mutual all of the way around and no one was happy so it wasn't a great surprise to anyone.
