I updated my profile this year, but didn't realize that my email was an older email - one I no longer use. I recently logged into that email and saw that I had been put on a referral list for Japan, and had 2 offers to interview (one in Japan and one in Bahrain). I emailed the 2 principals and explained. These emails were sent after my school year had started so I wouldn't want to leave my current position anyway. So here are my questions. 1 - All 3 of these were for gifted positions. Do you think gifted positions are harder to fill? (I'm also qualified in elementary education and special education) . 2 - I'd love to go to Europe (preferably) in 2018-2019. How early are interviews set up? I don't want to wait until August/September. 3 - I've looked everywhere on the online application and do not see my email listed. So I guess I'll contact DODD office and ask them to change that to my current email.
haha Click on edit profile at the top of the application. Email should be there.

Gifted is a relatively high needs position, especially if partnered with other areas of certification.

Interviews generally start around May and can go through until September and beyond. Most seem to happen in June and July. most years.

HopefulTeacher Does anybody have information about teaching gifted with DODDS? Do kids take IQ tests? Are they serviced for a certain amount of hours? Is there a set curriculum? After receiving these emails, I would really like to pursue this for next schoolyear.

haha To be honest, in many/most school gifted is a mishmash, if not a hot mess. Gifted students are not on IEP's like in many states and the idea of service minutes is not really a thing (or is at least not a real thing).

The curriculum and delivery method seems to be left up to the individual school/teacher, or at least that how it appears. ...See More
