Hello! I found this site today and it has been extremely helpful!

My situation is:

I am looking to become a DoD teacher for the 2018-2019 year, but am a little unsure of the requirements and don't know where to go to ask!

I am certified in Fl in Social Studies (6-12), Exceptional Student Ed (k-12), and have an ESOL endorsement. I am in the process I submitted my application and I'm qualified for social studies. The description says I need 30 SH to qualify for ESE. But I have also read that if a person is state certified they only need half of the required SH. So is 30 the total requirement or the partial requirement? Is college coursework the only acceptable training or is district PD accepted?

Thank you in advance, I am sorry if these things have been addressed by others!

I ❤ sped 30 is the total needed so if you need half you need 15. College course work with credits is the requirement. You will need to get the coursework sooner rather than later. Good luck

haha Did you submit all of your state certifications with your application? State certification should mean you only need half of the usually required hours. If you submitted the SPED and ESL certifications and they are still saying you need the full amount of required credits then I would try calling and/or writing and find out why.
