Is there anyway to apply for stateside positions? Are there schools in Texas or Alaska?
haha Yes, you fill out the same EAS application on the DoDEA HR page and select DoDEA Americas.

No, I don't believe that there are DoDEA schools in Texas or Alaska. Dependents would attend local schools there.

Jello76 But the stateside positions are listed for Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS)? I guess I was thinking you had to have a spouse in the military to apply for those positions because of the "dependent" part. Am I wrong?

haha Yes. The dependent refers to the students who are generally (but not always) dependents of active duty personnel. They don't really use DDESS anymore since we are all supposed to be DoDEA, rather than DoDDS for overseas and DDESS for stateside (so they should update the EAS).

HelpOthers I believe there are other government schools in Alaska. Someone here used to post about them. They are not with DoDEA, but related to the Native American population I believe.
