So...it's not DoDEA, but I was offered a position as a Special Education Process Coordinator for my current district. So I will be moving out of the classroom and into an office. Not sure what impact, if any, this will have on my chances for DoDEA, but I'm excited to try something new! So, I will be declining any interviews from DoDEA that might come my way unless they are absolutely 100% in a location I can't refuse...or an incredible increase in pay. DoDEA is still the dream, but for now, this will be a nice change in pace.(I accidentally posted this on another board and they will probably be very confused...but I can't figure out how to delete it.)

HelpOthers I believe ISS positions stateside are GS rather than TSP.

SpedTeacher74 @Mary, Thanks! Good to know. The supervisory ISS positions are all at DoDEA Headquarters I believe. They seem to be equivalent to the GS 12-13 positions on pay

HelpOthers @ SpedTeacher74, maybe that is what they mean by supervisory, but they don't actually supervise other ISSes for evaluations. Yes, the ISS positions in the districts are about the same pay equivalent: GS 12-13 which is what is provided to the housing office when determining level of housing (in addition to family size).

**psych** And then, one must overlay the fact that it is wholely unclear how to extricate oneself from the ISS position. It seems impossible to get a straight answer: some say that ISS's can apply in the transfer round- and yet the PDS is the DSO, not a school. Yet others say (more credibly) that a MDR is required.

HelpOthers @**psych** I understand that the only way to participate in the transfer round is using your school-level certifications, like school psychologist, rather than as an ISS. The only way to move from one ISS position to another is through a Management Directed Relocation.
