I hate to ask this, as I know it's a long shot and most are hoping for an offer anywhere...But are new hires ever placed in Europe?

My interest is specifically Italy or UK, which I know are some of most desired locations. It's technically possible, but has anyone new to this actually gotten their first offer for Europe or seen others start off in Europe? I'm prepared to wait years if necessary, and add as many certs as I can along the way.

I see so many on this board going for the pacific, and having specialized certs like SPED, with masters degrees.. and even then waiting years for a position. I'll begin trying for 2019/20 school year with a bachelors degree in Heath and PE, middle school Math and Science certs, with 9 years teaching experience. Should I get my masters, rather than add certified areas? Are Italy or the UK just too much of a long shot to hope for?

someday There is a question that hasn't been asked. Do you have the teaching coursework that is required also or did you do an ACP?

sgluca I do have the all teaching coursework with the Health and Physical Edicarion degree. Math and Science are added certs based on passing state testing, and the actual areas I've been teaching for years. I believe I have the required courses to qualify for science with DoDEA, but am likely a class or two short with Math, so will have to work on that a...See More
