@ T.Rob/OP. It's a good question. If the OP has MS Science based on the required DoDEA credits or half of the required credits with a state cert, then HS Science shouldn't be that far of a leap. Speaking for myself, if you're only certified in MS then you would only be considered for MS positions (and missing out on potential HS openings). All Dodea schools are small, really small. Most applicants fail to appreciate this little fact. Tha smallest schools have around 100 students and the biggest max out at a 1,000. And there are only a small handful of Dodea schools that approach four digits.
