Hi guys,

So I actually ventured into nursing before I became a teacher and took 24 hours of biology both upper level and lower level. (at least I believe they would be considered upper level) Does anyone know where I could take 6 hours in biology or science? This would qualify me to teach middle school and secondary general science as well as biology. Also, what does DODEA consider to be upper level hours? Thanks!

southernteach I am in Alabama. But, I also have a teaching license in Tennessee. I am not sure. I have only taken the Praxis tests I have a degree in so far.

CoPurry There used to be a guy on this site who was in administration or HR or something who had suggested using a combination of state certification, CLEP exams and portfolio credit at colleges who used his certification and certification exam to get portfolio credit from a community college and than used CLEP exams to get more credit from another college...See More

haha Some posted on the DoD Teachers FB page about UC Riverside Extension. They have some interesting looking courses (including quite a few 3 credit AP courses).

haha I stand corrected. It looks like they use quarter credit units which I'm not familiar with so do the research before counting on a 3 unit class to count for 3 credits with DoDEA.

Scholar It may be cheapest for you to get those carts added to your state license, meaning you'd only need 15 credits which you already have.
